a farm breakfast wedding shower

Last weekend, I, along with Steph and my mom, gave my sister a wedding shower.  So, come on in and enjoy!

I used photos of the future bride and groom, jars (my absolute favorite accessory right now), flowers from my mom's garden, some Heather Bailey fabric, and some vintage kitchen items to decorate for the "farm breakfast" shower.

We had a biscuit bar with jellies, preserves, and honey that came from the local farmer's market.  And, I finally got to use my Anthro butter dish...I LOVE that girl!

My mom's recipe box that she got at her wedding held the napkins and the forks sat in a flour sifter.

We served yummy and beautiful fruit.

Steph made a delicious quiche.

Mom made some coffee cake.

We had juice and milk to drink.

My sister and beautiful bride to be, Beth

She received a lot of great stuff!  I think we need to start a new tradition...after every 10 years of marriage, your friends and family should throw you a shower!  I need some new stuff!  Ha!

Grace (aka: the flower girl) wanted her picture taken with the wedding girl!

ahhh!  caffeine!

No party would be complete at our house if it didn't end with kids dressed as princesses...Grace and Allison!

Oh, don't forget to take some honey home with you!

Steph made these cute jars of honey!

what a BIG boy

I'm not sure when this happened, but Carter is no longer a baby.  He's turned into a little boy!  And he thinks he is a BIG boy!

butterfly fairies

During Aunt Beth's last week at work, I took Grace to Sweet & Sassy for a final hoo-rah!  She has really only been there for her first haircut, but we've stopped by a few times to see Aunt Beth and get a glitter star or tattoo.  Anyway, Grace and Lily had a butterfly fairy make over and they were EXCITED!

They had their nails painted.

They got their hair braided.

They had their faces painted.

They put their wings on and...
...danced
...sang
...flew
...giggled

I'm so glad we took the time to do this.  They had so much fun and this will be such a special memory!  Thanks, Aunt Beth for a wonderful experience!

Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day!  I hope you all had a happy day loving your mommas and babies!

I am so glad that I get to be their momma!  Love them so much!!!

But, come on, how could you not love this?!?

After church, we ate at our favorite mexican place and celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma.

Later, we were going to celebrate with Mimi.  But...this girl woke up from her nap with a fever.  We didn't want to spread any germs so, we stayed home...

...and rested and played!  In the words of Carter, we played "ashes"!

HaPPY DaY!

butterflies

Our caterpillars...

...are now butterflies!  We enjoyed watching them for a few days.  Carter loved climbing up in a chair and "oohing" at the butterflies.

The time finally came to set them free!

And off they flew!
