girl's trip...family style

Our last adventure took place at my brother's house.  We got to visit with The Taylors in Texas!  We basically just hung out, ate some yummy food, and watched the kids play.

These girls LOVE playing dress-up!

DRAMA!!!  What are the teenage years going to be like?!?
(photo bomb by Daniel)

Jett kept posing for me to take his picture.  Ha!  I think he kinda liked me a little bit.

This show just kept on going...outfit changes, singing, dancing, music, and even some cheerleading moves!

Snuggling with Uncle Daniel...sweet!

Ha!  There he is again!  So cute!

We had such a fun and fast girl's trip!  I think we should do it again, girlies!  What do you think?

girl's trip...swedish style?!?

We went to Ikea and I did a pretty lousy job taking pics.  I guess that I was too focused on my list that I brought with me.

Grace took this pic of us when we first got there.

Beth had her list too and she was having a tough time deciding which throw she should get for her bedroom.  I think she decided on the cream one.

I got two of those lovely rainbow striped pillows for our patio.

Grace and Lily played in the play area while we shopped.  Then we all ate lunch and I tried the swedish meatballs.  Oh, and they have Mountain Dew there!!!

After lunch, we were still only halfway through the store.  So, the girls shopped with us and played in all the little "houses."  They were busy baking cookies in this kitchen.

I might have played in the "houses" too!

While we were making our final decisions (Do I need this?  Should I go back and get another one of these?  Oh yeah, I still need to go pick up that!), the girls played some more!

I would call this shopping trip a success!!!  Thanks to my wonderful mother in law who gave me some Ikea spending money!!!

After about 30-45 minutes in the parking lot loading up the van with all our goodies including this chair and a 150 pound sink of Beth's and looking for a lost pair of shoes (MOM!), we were outta there!

girl's trip...cowgirl style

Our next adventure took place here at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Howdy!

We just walked around, shopped, ate, and hung out.

The cutest cowgirls in Texas came from Tennessee!

Grace rode a bull.  Ha!

We saw the longhorn cattle drive.

Those red lips needed a kiss!

We chi-laxed on this giant spur.

Grace had her boots shined.  Well, she pretended anyway.

We met a cowboy.

Don't mess with this!!!

or this!  Love it!

We even got a group pic!
Yay!!!
All the girls!

Good-bye Fort Worth and

good night!

girl's trip...american girl style

On day 2 of our girl's trip, we went here!!!

Grace had been saving her money for her very first American Girl doll.  She falls asleep looking through the catalogs, so she already knew exactly which one she wanted.

Found it!  The girl with blonde curly hair, blue eyes, and freckles.

After she got her doll picked out and waiting at the counter for her, she could enjoy herself, look around, and help Lily decide what to get for her doll, Julie.  We love Kit...she is so cute!  I want her wardrobe and her bedroom!

She finally handed over the big bucks and got her doll, Taylor!  She was so excited and proud!

Then, we headed upstairs to the Bistro for lunch.  So fun!

It was all about American Girl pink, dolls, girls, and the details.

I had a great time hanging out with the girls and enjoying the imagination and innocence of girlhood.

Grace and Taylor both enjoyed the classic pink lemonade.

Lily stole a sip of Julie's drink.

We had some yummy appetizers...spinach artichoke dip and...

...fancy fruit kabobs with yogurt and muffins.

It was all very delicious!

Next, we had a bitty burger and mini hot dog and...

...a bistro burger with some super yummy sweet potato fries!  Sadly, there was no room left for dessert.

We really had a fun girly time and I'm so thankful that we were able to do this!

Wonderful memories were made!!!
