Valentine's Day

John and Carter went shopping and Carter "got balloons for everybody!!! 'Cause it is Valentine's Day and it's gonna be a party!"

We went on a family date and saw "The Lego Movie."  And...it was "awesome!"

But...the really awesome part was eating one of my very favorite meals!!!  Mmm!  We had J Alexander's steak maui with not your ordinary mac and cheese...sooo good!  The best part...we got to eat it in our pajamas!!!

After dinner, we gave the kiddos their Valentine's.

You know...'cause we love them and stuff!

I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day with your favorite peeps too!

our valentines

Our Valentine cards are all ready to pass out on Friday at class parties.  We finished a day early...it's a miracle (really, it's because church was cancelled tonight).

Grace wanted to make hers all by herself.  She drew Olaf and wrote "I like warm hugs!" on her cards and then she glued a Hershey's Hug on Olaf's stick arm.  She worked so hard on these and is super proud of them!

She made her teacher one too, but I thought a kindergarten teacher should get a little something more than one chocolate hug.  So, we printed this off and added some of my favorite chapstick!

Carter made this for a friend of his!  He is super confused about why Grace is making so many cards for school and he's not.

I also made these Love Bugs for all my Jitterbugs at school!

Are you ready for Valentine's Day?  I'm so glad a miracle happened and I am ready because I have to stay late for parent conferences at school tomorrow!  Whew!!!

valentine touches to our home

Our house has been added with some touches of red and pink and hearts in honor of Valentine's Day!

Every day in February, we put love notes in the kid's mailboxes.  They wake up excited to check the mail!

They have taken it upon themselves to tape their notes all over the house.

I hope you have a great Valentine's week with lots of love and sugar!!!

Finally!!!

We had a "snow day!"  We've been hoping and praying for snow for months now.  We haven't had a real snow day since Carter was one month old and we were getting desperate!  Now, this isn't exactly the kind of snow day that I was hoping for (on a Saturday and the grass isn't even covered), but I'll take what I can get.  Also, I still have faith that we will get a for real snow day soon!

Carter was so excited to swing in the snow!

Grace loves a snowball fight with her daddy!

We built our snowman!!!  And then, Carter picked it up and yelled "snowman fight!!!!"

They brought cups and spoons outside with them.
They are strange.
or smart.

These kiddos loved their snow day and made sure that they thanked Jesus for the snow!

When the snow melted, we came inside and watched the Olympics in our pjs with some hot chocolate.

They are planning on being an ice skating pair when they grow up...they're already working on their routine.

Go Blue & White!!!

The last day of spirit week was Blue & White Day.  Once again, Grace wore my old cheerleading uniform.  It did not disappoint...she won best dressed!  Oh yeah!!!

All week, she had been going to cheer camp and she got to cheer on Homecoming Night.  She was so excited and loved being a cheerleader!

"We are the Kingsmen girls.
We wear our hair in curls.
And, you'll never see us frown.
We push away the toys.
We cheer for Kingsmen boys.
We are the cutest girls in town!"

I missed getting a pic of her "toe touch."  But, let me just say...that was my most favorite "toe touch"
of all the toe touches in
the whole wide world!
Her smile says it all!!!
