InstaFriday x2

Oh yeah!  Be jealous people.  Be very jealous!  Momma's got mad braiding skills!

Spring is s-l-o-w-l-y creeping in.

I have changed way too many stinky diapers lately!  Way too many!

Grace was beyond excited to watch American Idol!  We just started watching with the top ten.  She has to sit right beside me to watch.

Looks like there is a new idol fan in our house!

"Whoa!  Big Carter Man!  Big bite!!!"

I got my March charm!

St. Patty's Day picnic in the park

Grace had her first soccer practice (and possibly her last if it doesn't stop raining!)

John and I had a date night and of course, we went to Anthro.  These mugs are so happy!!!

I really wish I needed these!  I love NYC...maybe next year. (Right, John???)

This dress is so cute.  I'm trying to decide if I can pull off an all over bicycle print.

Date nights are the best!

Especially, when they lead to this deliciousness!  I want to jump into the screen right now!  Mmm!  Soooo gooood!

Pippi Longstocking sleeps here sometimes.

Pjs were on inside out and we were waiting for the snow.

No snow day!  Rude!

Milkshakes and cheeseburgers with Mimi and Poppa...mmm!

Have a fun weekend!  Hope you stay warm and dry...come on spring!!!

The Results Are In!

The winner of American Idol is...

...Phillip...

...Phillips!!!

Have you been watching?

American Idol?
Well, we definitely have been and Grace has been SUPER excited to watch each week.

We didn't watch all the try-outs and Grace wasn't quite sure how this whole process worked.  She knew that she was "supposed to have a favorite."  So, she picked Randy Jackson, a judge, as her favorite.
"That's the one that I want to marry.  Him's handsome.  I want to marry him a lot...a bery, bery, bery lot!"

Oh my!  Anyway, she eventually found out that he was married and that she could pick a favorite singer.  She picked "all da girls" as her favorite.  Now, this so-called watching the show that I am referring to is not watching in the normal sense of the word.  It usually starts out that way...you know sitting on the couch covered up with a quilt and maybe eating a little snack.

But, it quickly turns into this!

or maybe this

Eventually, Carter gets put in bed and the tv is turned up so loud because I am DESPERATELY trying to hear at least one song out of the 54 that are sung during each 2 hour show.  But, my attempts always fail!  "Watching American Idol" ALWAYS turns into background noise to the "proncert" that takes place in my living room every week.

Now that Grace has screamed sung along with the show each week, she believes that she will be on American Idol.  "One day, when I'm on there it will be me, Taylor 'Smith', Phillip Phillips, and new people."  She has practiced a ton and she should be ready!  Every week, I have to introduce her before she sings each song and judge her at the end.  She can sing and dance with a microphone, the stand, and/or either.  Oh, and she will also come and stick her hand in front of me so I can touch her...just like the real contestants do.

I have also been asked..."Momma, will you go with me to American Idol?  You gotta tell me what to wear.  It's ok, Jessica's mom goes with her."

So, tonight is the finale and Grace's favorite is Jessica.

And, I like Phillip!

It should be exciting to see who wins and how Grace reacts to the finale!

John was preparing her for the end of the show because he didn't want her to be upset when the show stops coming on.  She replied, "Don't worry, next year there will be two new girls.  I'll give you a hint. Dem live in this house and dem got curly hair."  Oh, my goodness!  She actually believes we will be on American Idol next year!!!

I am going to leave you with a video of our weekly living room American Idol "proncert."  Oh, and this one is one of the more subdued performances.

lately...

Carter has been feeding himself with utensils.  He really thinks he is BIG stuff!

We have caterpillars!

Our kids are getting baths whether they like it or not!

We are watching playing American Idol!

Mostly, we are trucking through these last few days of school...only 21 more to go!

embrace the camera.

Last night, Grace and I settled down and watched American Idol.

After about one song, the boys left the room and went to watch basketball in the bedroom.
Oh, well...their loss!

So...who's your favorite?

Do you like to dance with Naima,
like Grace?

Or, sing along with Casey, like me?

Leave a comment telling who your favorite is!
