Today was Military Day.  Thanks to my brother, Brad, Grace was all set!

Spirit Week~Futuristic Day

Today was Futuristic Day.  This one had me stumped for a while!  At first, I was thinking alien robot creatures, but we didn't have any gold spandex unitards laying around and then it hit me.  Grace could dress 25 years into her future.  She could dress like a mommy!

Perfect.  I think she will make a wonderful mommy.  One day.  In the future.  Many, many years into the future.

I'm not sure what makes a fireplace the backdrop to almost every picture we take.  Funny.  Strange.  We might get all kinds of crazy tomorrow and stand somewhere else.  Might.  If the morning isn't hectic.  So, probably not.  Every morning is hectic!  Do you have a go to spot for your pics?

Spirit Week~Clash Day

It's that time of the year again...spirit week for Grace's school's homecoming.  Today was Clash Day!

a silly face to go with a silly outfit

We took advantage of the unusually warm temperature and we played outside as long as we could.  We stayed out until the sun went to bed.

It was so nice and very needed!

Hopefully, we can play outside tomorrow too!!!

yet another dump of my phone pics

Early last week, we got out of school early because there was a winter storm warning.  Apparently, I am a typical southerner because I had to go by the grocery store and get some milk.  We were really just out, but heaven forbid you get snowed/iced in without milk!!!

We didn't get much of anything and we were back to school the next day.

Grace and Carter had an ice cream cone after dinner.  Carter has become more aware of his surroundings lately.  He kept looking at Grace saying, "Grace, you're a mess!"  Hmm. Really?

Just a few minutes before the movie started, I forced invited my mom and sister to go see Les Miserables with me.  I really needed to see it again!  This movie is sooo very good!  I loved it even more the second time!

Carter, Grace, and John were a little sad watching the Altima get towed away.  "Bye, Daddy's car!"

While running some errands, we ended up at the mall and Grace somehow ended up jumping there.  She was willing to use her own money to pay for it.  At this rate, it's going to take her a long time to save for an American Girl doll!  Ugh!  Kids and money!  She said that it was so fun and worth the $7.  Ha!

She also paid for Carter to ride the carrousel.  He loved it!

We were making cookies for Carter's birthday party and Grace said that she wishes we could of had these at her art party because they are "create-iful!"

We celebrated Carter's 2nd birthday with a milk & COOKIE party...lots more pics to come!

I'm so glad today was a holiday!  Now...to see what this week holds?!?

A Sprinkle Birthday Celebration {part two}

Once the guests arrived, we didn't waste any time getting into all those sprinkles!

I caught this nervous, excited laugh from Grace as everyone was singing "Happy Birthday".

I think these sprinkle ice cream cones were the biggest hit with the kids.  According to Carter, everyone was a mess!

Carter really loves the birthday girl!

Poppa and Carter got a little quality time in...I think, they had been missing each other.

Next, Grace opened up her gifts.  Lily, of course, found plenty of reading material.

She loves her new boots!

This is a face of pure joy and excitement!

She got a bubblegum machine!

She ran straight to Mimi and Poppa to give them a huge hug of thanks!

She also got a lot of money...she's saving up for an American Girl doll.

After a lot of playing...the kids gathered for the grand finale.  What's a sprinkle party without a....

spRiNklE fIghT!!!

soooo fuuunnn!!!

Although, Carter didn't think so.

Grace, Tripp, and

Isabelle had the most fun with the "sprinkles."

We love our five year old so very much!  She is becoming such a sweet, helping, loving big girl!

What a fun way to sprinkle our sweet girl with lots of love!

a sprinkle birthday celebration {part one}

grace celebrated her 5th birthday with a sprinkle party.  she was very into her theme! she wanted sprinkles everywhere...so, i tried.

i repurposed this paper medallion thingy from another party...a sprinkly 5.

grace helped sew this sprinkle garland...she probably did half of it herself.

a sprinkly candle

sprinkle colored flowers and another sprinkly 5 medallion thingy

we hung sprinkle filled balloons

grace helped with all these sprinkles too and her wonderful daddy blew up and hung each and every ballon.

cupcakes and ice cream cones covered in sprinkles of course.

more sprinkles and the birthday girl's special cupcake!

um, so, i do not bake and well, these cupcakes turned out ok for a girl who never does this kind of thing.  i think the new minivan may have given me some new mom powers.  i did however use end up running out of frosting about 5 minutes before the party started.  john saved the day with more frosting!

a sprinkle filled vase of flowers

the party favors were...you guessed it...sprinkles!

we may even be able to give the guests a lifetime of sprinkles...i think i still have about 3 pounds left!  ha!

everything is better with sprinkles.
