we had an actual, for real, snow day!!!  like real snow!  not ice or sleet or some flurries.  the real stuff!!!  it has been a very long time since we've gotten this much snow!  so long, in fact, that our kids weren't even sure how to play in it.  but, that didn't stop them from having fun!  they both came in soaking wet (because we don't have actual snow gear and because they were rolling around in the snow like they were at the beach or something).  they loved it and never complained about the cold!  they even went back out in it later in the day.  it was perfect!

brrr!!!

Sunday night, we put our pjs on backwards, flushed ice down the potty, and did a snow dance.

We woke up to this...sleet.  The ice and freezing temps kept us out of school for the next three days.  We went to school one day and stayed home again today because of more freezing rain.

We've spent a lot of time together.  All four of us.

We've had some fun times and some times of insanity.

We played inside and outside.

There were "snowball" fights.

There were tears.

Lots of icicles have been eaten.

And, just as much hot chocolate has been sipped.

We've stayed warm except, when we weren't.

There has been a ton of dirty clothes and dishes too.

Art lessons were had.

Sledding down icy driveways were a favorite.

Pizza pans for sleds worked fabulously.

Some people busted.

Some people didn't mind slipping and falling.

We played hard.

We also read the entire internet and played on our kindles way too much.

We watched movies and ate lots of food.

We redesigned the entire kitchen, but only in our imaginations.

We stayed in our pjs most of the days.

We are thankful for these cold, winter days that we get to spend together, but...it may be time to go back to school.

Finally!!!

We had a "snow day!"  We've been hoping and praying for snow for months now.  We haven't had a real snow day since Carter was one month old and we were getting desperate!  Now, this isn't exactly the kind of snow day that I was hoping for (on a Saturday and the grass isn't even covered), but I'll take what I can get.  Also, I still have faith that we will get a for real snow day soon!

Carter was so excited to swing in the snow!

Grace loves a snowball fight with her daddy!

We built our snowman!!!  And then, Carter picked it up and yelled "snowman fight!!!!"

They brought cups and spoons outside with them.
They are strange.
or smart.

These kiddos loved their snow day and made sure that they thanked Jesus for the snow!

When the snow melted, we came inside and watched the Olympics in our pjs with some hot chocolate.

They are planning on being an ice skating pair when they grow up...they're already working on their routine.
