InstaFriday

this week was kinda blah!  school was hard and i was tired!  i'm glad it's over and i have a long weekend to recover.  here are the few pics I took this week.

grace and carter played momma, daddy, and baby.  carter saw this picture and pointed to grace and and grunted her name, pointed at the doll and said "baby", and then pointed at himself and said "dada."  i guess he really knew what they were playing.
they play so well together and it makes me so happy!

story time before bed

oh my!  we had a rough morning!  she wanted a picture in her p.e. uniform, but couldn't stop crying for the pic.

we had team night at awana...manchester united and memphis tigers were our teams.

carter emptied his diaper genie and took the load to the dumpster.

carter likes to eat crayons color with grace while she does her homework and yes, she has homework.

this is where my booty sat tonight after eating dinner, cleaning the kitchen, living room, and 1 and a half bedrooms, and getting kids in the bed.  i am beyond excited about this extra long weekend!

i hope you are too!

lately

Life has been moving along.  Nothing very exciting has been going on.  We are all finally in the swing of things with the new school year.  Here are some pics from my phone that I have taken over the last couple of weeks.

I got in a some rare cuddle time with my Carter Man before school started back.

Grace has awesome hair!

And so does Carter!  He just oozes coolness.

Grace and Tripp played on a "floating dog bed."

In the words of my brother, "It's Coooonnnaaaannn O'Briiiiiiiaaaannnn!"

We surprised Steph with a Tangled birthday party!

That's how everyone wants to celebrate their 30th, right?

School started for me.

Our closet broke.  Boo.

I got these super cute flowers from a sweet student.

The night before Grace started school, we read The Kissing Hand.

Grace brought an apple to her teacher.

Grace started k-4.

My sweet friend gave me this ginormous Mountain Dew before school one morning and I so NEEDED it that day!

She calls me her sweetie heart.

My parenting skills may have taken a backseat during the first weeks of school.  Sorry, Carter!

We had some family time and rode the carousel.

Grace had an umbrella parade at school to celebrate the letter Uu.  "I just LOVE my new umbrella"

This came walking into my room the other morning.

It took me WAY too long to get home on Friday afternoon!  Ugh!!!

Can you tell he has a big sister?

Silly girl!

I went shopping with my mom and sister.

Our shopping trip turned into a trip to the ER.  Not cool!  (Everyone is alright, now.)

We had a Sunday night picnic after swimming in the backyard.

I caught Grace reading her Bible in bed when she was supposed to be sleeping.  But, how can you be mad about that?

Like I said, life has been moving along but, nothing too exciting.
That's my lately.

The First Day of School

Grace had her first day of K-4 last week and she was super excited to go!  The night before school started, we read The Kissing Hand and she willingly went to bed.

We celebrated the first day of school with a "Back to School" pancake breakfast.

Grace got herself dressed and was ready to go!

Of course, Carter wanted in on the action...LOVE this!!!

She is such a cutie!  My favorite girl in the whole wide world!!!

She said that she was a little nervous, but she happily walked in her classroom and hung up her backpack.

We are so excited that Grace is in Mrs. Jerkins' class.  It is going to be a great year!

Now, that she is in K-4, she gets to sit in a desk...BIG stuff happens in K-4!

There were no tears from her or me. Carter, on the other hand, did not like leaving his big sister and all of her stuff at school.  He cried a lot!  I'm super proud of my big girl and I'm praying for a happy year!

Our Texas Adventure...Visiting Family

We concluded our Texas Adventure by hanging out with some family.  We celebrated John's grandparent's anniversary with a luau.

Of course, I didn't get pictures of them.  But, I got a lot of my kids.

All the kids had such a fun time playing together in the backyard.  They were so busy.

I had to get a pic of Charlie's belly!  Look how full it is!  Hilarious!!!

Uncle Charles played baseball with the kids.

Love this!  Look how Carter has his hand out to catch the baseball.  He can hang with the big kids just fine!

Grace and Aunt Cindy
(You thought that was Grandma didn't you?  Nope, it's her twin sister.)

After the luau, we went to my brother's house.  We love hanging out with them.  Jenna and Grace had so much fun together!

These girls are blessed to have a daddy that will dance with them and treat them like princesses.

Sunday, we all got ready for church in the usual Sunday-Morning-Rush kinda way.  We didn't really even have time for me to take this pic.

We went to Sunday School with the youth so we could see my little brother in action.  He did a great job!

We had a short and sweet visit with the Taylor's and then we were homeward bound!!!
