we wasted no time starting our summer off right!

we are so blessed to have friends with a pool!  they are basically the only kind of friends to have!  ha!

it's also really nice to have family with a pool!

and s'mores!!!

for real, we are blessed to have friends that don't mind us invading their home with all our craziness!!!

since, we don't want to overstay our welcome, we needed to find a few other things to do with our summer.

i'm thinking this might help encourage a little summer reading!

we ran by the library to pick up a few new reads.

carter chose biographies of nba stars.

grace chose the american girl, samantha, series.

we also made cookies and then we ate them. all!

we made it!!!

the school year is over!

i said good-bye to this group of crazy kiddos!!!

then, we got right down to summer business!

egg hunts

this weekend was full of egg hunts!

saturday, our sunday school class got together for lunch and an egg hunt at church.

it was fun to get to run through the church and hunt for eggs.

the parents were kinda sorta hunting too because there was a golden egg with $20 in it!

the jacobs kids did not find that special egg.

but, that was totally ok because CANDY!!!

sunday afternoon, we met the boys and mimi and poppa at their neighborhood hunt.

our soccer buds were there too!

they hunted fast because it was so cold and the temp kept dropping!

then it started snowing!

happy st. patrick's day

as st. patrick's day was approaching, the kids asked if they could make leprechaun traps.  use your creativity and engineering skills while being resourceful?  YES, please make leprechaun traps!

grace designed a shoe store with a need of a new employer...i wonder if there are any leprechauns looking for a cobbling job?!?

carter man was just giving away free gold!  i mean, what leprechaun doesn't want more gold?!?

this morning, unfortunately, we didn't find any trapped leprechauns.

but, someone had tried to get some gold!

freckles o'rainbowchaser did leave us a magically delicious breakfast, some green treasures, and chocolate coins!!!

the crazy day ended with green shamrock quesadillas, rainbow fruit kabobs, and...

...magical shamrock potion!!!
