a sprinkle birthday celebration {part one}

grace celebrated her 5th birthday with a sprinkle party.  she was very into her theme! she wanted sprinkles everywhere...so, i tried.

i repurposed this paper medallion thingy from another party...a sprinkly 5.

grace helped sew this sprinkle garland...she probably did half of it herself.

a sprinkly candle

sprinkle colored flowers and another sprinkly 5 medallion thingy

we hung sprinkle filled balloons

grace helped with all these sprinkles too and her wonderful daddy blew up and hung each and every ballon.

cupcakes and ice cream cones covered in sprinkles of course.

more sprinkles and the birthday girl's special cupcake!

um, so, i do not bake and well, these cupcakes turned out ok for a girl who never does this kind of thing.  i think the new minivan may have given me some new mom powers.  i did however use end up running out of frosting about 5 minutes before the party started.  john saved the day with more frosting!

a sprinkle filled vase of flowers

the party favors were...you guessed it...sprinkles!

we may even be able to give the guests a lifetime of sprinkles...i think i still have about 3 pounds left!  ha!

everything is better with sprinkles.

Hey There!

I'm just dropping in to share some phone pics from the last few days.

John and I went out.  Alone.  By ourselves.  Without kids.

We ate dinner and saw Les Mis.  It was so good!  I loved it and I'm trying to figure out how I can go see it again very soon!  The last movie I saw in the theater was Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked over a year ago.  So, this was a pretty exciting night!!!

I got in some extra cuddles from my newly turned 2 year old!

Grace is still loving playing with all her new toys that she got for Christmas.

I had cinnamon toast for breakfast.  It was yummy.  I haven't had it in a long time!

Don't you just love these?  Pom-poms and ruffle ribbon.  Lovely.

Life with a big sister.  Even though he is dressed like a princess, he could NOT keep his eyes off the Tiger game!

I got my new charm in the mail.  So cute!

Grace and I cut out a lot of circles sprinkles for her birthday party.

Just in case you ever wondered what 6 pounds of sprinkles look like...here you go.

After John's hood flew up and cracked the windshield while driving down the interstate with the kids in the car (Thank you, Jesus, for keeping them safe!!!), we thought we had better get a new (to us) car.  Finally.  We've been putting this off for years now.

We now own a minivan.  I went kicking and screaming, but I knew it was the smartest and most practical choice.  But, I got a rep to protect, ya know?  HA!

We took the van out for a spin.  Grace is soooo excited about our new vehicle.  I believe her exact words were "Wowie Wow Wow!"

We had a little jam session with some cousins!

See ya soon, baboon!

two.

Carter woke up to a room full of balloons on his 2nd birthday.  I heard him talking to all his stuffed animals through the monitor before I got him out of bed.  "Wow!  Look, Cookie. Balloons!  Look, Elmo.  Look, Big Bird. Balloons!"

He shoots.  He scores!

We had a yummy cinnamon roll birthday breakfast!

Happy Birthday, Carter Man!

Grace celebrated too!

"CHEESE"

He has made these last 2 years very, um, exciting!  Whew!  I can't imagine my life without him!  (Not sure what's going on with the cocked shoulder in all these pics...kinda cute though!)

We all love our Carter Man!!!

He was ready to go eat!  And he wanted pizz-E!

Carter Man, we love you so much!!!

five.

Today, my sweet little girl is five.  I can't believe how fast those years went!

We had a whole lotta lovin' and posin' going on today!

She asked to be addressed as Birthday Girl today.  She kinda loves her birthday!

We took her to Chuck E Cheese's for her birthday dinner...her choice.

fun times with our favorite five year old!

Happy New Year!

We welcomed in the new year in a very laid back way.  We "partied" at home...just the four of us!

We ate sandwiches and snack food for dinner.

We had some plasma car races!

We played Grace's new game...it's harder than it looks!

There was a mean game of balloon volleyball going on!

Finally, we ended the night with a glowstick dance party!

Like my mad moves???
