He is risen!

I am so thankful that
I serve a risen Savior!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
{I Peter 1:3}

Carter says, "He is risen, indeed!"

Happy Easter!

Hippity Hop Hop

Easter's on its way...

Today, my sweet little bunnies, John, and I, colored some eggs!

She had fun, but only for about 30 minutes.  I guess that's pretty good for a 3 year old.  Right?

Yes, we posed with our favorite egg!  Cheesy?  I know!  But...for a bunch of dorks like us, it's hard to be cool!

We also played outside!
aka: practiced hunting for eggs.

Now, we are all ready for Easter.  Outfits are laid out.

Carrots are left out for the
Easter Bunny to munch on!

And, the Easter baskets are out and waiting to be filled with chocolate, jellybeans, and sugar coated marshmallows!

this is a new "cheese" face...a little scary
Hope you are ready too!

Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, Who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
"Full atonement!" can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Lifted up was He to die;
"It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in heav'n exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

an EGGciting weekend!

Saturday was such a nice cold spring day, but we braved the wind and cold and went to an Easter Egg hunt.  Grace was very excited!  She has had her eye on a Hello Kitty Easter basket at Target and during most of the hunt she was scoping out the other kids' baskets and was a little jealous of the couple of girls who had a Hello Kitty basket.  I guess she will have to settle for her sweet monogrammed daisy basket because she is not getting a new basket every year.  She did a great job hunting eggs.  And what do you know, her basket worked just as good as those red bowed kitties and looked even cuter!

Grace found a special prize egg!  She got a Zhu Zhu pet!  But, I'm pretty sure she would have been just as happy with only candy!  That girl loves her some candy!!!

Grace told us on the way to the hunt that she had to sit in the Easter Bunny's lap before she could play in the bouncy house. (That was totally fine with me because she has never sat in the Easter Bunny's or Santa's lap without crying or being held by me.)  I was so proud of her because she actually did it!  She walked right up to that giant bunny and gave him a hug and climbed in his lap for a picture!  You can see she was nervous, but that's ok!  She is growing up so fast!

We saw some goats, sheep, a donkey, and a llama.  And yes, this is as close as she was getting!

She finally got to jump!  Despite the freezing wind, she could have stayed in there all day!

Carter stayed wrapped up, warm, and content in his carrier for most of the morning!

At this point, I was no longer able to feel my toes.  They were frozen!  So, we made the decision that the obstacle course was the final event for the morning!  Grace patiently waited her turn.

Smocked dresses and bows don't hinder this girl from climbing like a little monkey!

We tried to warm up a little before the walk to our car.

On the way to the car, some firefighters asked Grace if she wanted to check out their fire truck.  Grace and her new found bravery let that firefighter pick her up and put her in the truck.

On the way home we ran by the bookstore and SURPRISE!  Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber were there!  However, Grace left her bravery on the fire truck.  She is in this picture...she's the one backed against the wall with her eyes not moving away from those giant vegetables!

She just needed her momma...right?

Later in the day, Carter Man was finally ready for his close up!

Sunday, during church, we had another surprise!  Grace and Carter, along with all the other kids at church, came into the service waving palm branches!

The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
{Matthew 21:9}

“‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
{Matthew 21:16}
